Learning Outcome 5 & 6
throughout the semester we had taken a look at several examples of proper MLA formatting and how to best cite our sources both in text and after we are finished with a paper. At a first glance, I had thought MLA formatting was simple as you were to follow the template with your name, professors name and the class name in the beginning of the paper but this proved to be very wrong. Citations are a massive part of MLA formatting as they give proper credit to the source you have chosen to implicate within an essay. When writing Project one, I was very unsure of how to cite and would usually just include a simple authors last name. Now that I have developed a better understanding for what the importance of this tactic, ive been able to make my writing much stronger when trying to provide an argument. An example of this is when Writing paper 3, I was able to implement a students essay from 2018 and cite the sources properly to strengthen my argument and better summarize my article. Im thankful I have learned this skill as I am not able to take writing from other sources and use it to better strengthen my own personal argument.
